Get Assistance Paying For Rehab
First Choice Health Insurance
Addiction is a destructive disease that can knock you off-track and cause trouble in many aspects of your life. However, if you’re thinking about starting rehab, you’re already on the path to recovery. Money is one of the main reasons people are concerned about attending residential rehab, but your First Choice addiction treatment coverage could contribute towards the cost.
First Choice is different from many other health insurance providers because doctors and various other hospital professionals operate it. This means you get a specialized service from people who intimately understand the system. First Choice works closely with drug and alcohol clinics to offer its clients a range of addiction treatment services. In some cases, it’ll cover inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, DUI rehab, addiction medication and several other services.
How First Choice Can Help you Recover
First Choice Alcohol Rehab Coverage
Lots of individuals have First Choice coverage included as part of their employee benefits package. First Choice covers rehab when it’s deemed a medical necessity, which is decided by your primary care physician or a First Choice consultant.
Additionally, First Choice is part of an Employee Assistance Program. These help employees with issues such as mental health, conflict resolution and addiction. Depending on your plan, you could be entitled to treatment through your employer. Otherwise, you’ll pay a certain amount each month, which is deducted from your paycheck. First choice covers up to 80% of inpatient and outpatient alcohol use disorder treatment, depending on your policy.
Detox with the help of insurance
First Choice Drug Rehab Coverage
If drug addiction is holding someone back, First Choice aims to get them back on track. To get a referral, you’ll either get an assessment from your family doctor or see a First Choice consultant. They’ll give you a prescription and a referral and then you’ll choose a treatment center. You’ll save money if you opt for an in-network clinic compared to an out-of-network facility, but you should get some level of coverage for both.
You could get up to 80% of the costs paid by First Choice for residential and outpatient rehab. With the right plan, you could get coverage for the following addictions:
- Opioids
- Heroin
- Cocaine
- Crystal meth
- Prescription medication
- Crack cocaine
Does First Choice Health Cover Detox?
For many of the addictions mentioned above, you’ll need to go through detox before you start an alcohol or drug rehabilitation program. This is usually deemed a medical necessity, so under the Affordable Care Act, insurance providers must cover at least some of the costs. First Choice works closely with addiction treatment clinics to help people get access to the resources and support they need.
Does the Clinic Have to Be In-Network?
All rehab centers have a variety of insurance providers that they’re in-network with. This means clients are entitled to more benefits because of the mutual relationship between the two entities. Other clinics are considered out of network, and they’ll usually require you to pay a higher percentage of your fees.
Also, with an out-of-network provider, you usually need to pay all your fees upfront and then put in a claim for reimbursement. If you do end up choosing an out-of-network clinic, you’ll likely pay significantly more from your pocket.
Where Does First Plan Operate?
